How to write Donation Letters?

Successful Donation Letters must first start by describing your organization, activity and achievements.
Then you should write about your program that needs to be sponsored. Why do you need the money for? Be specific. If possible give examples and write about the impact of each individual donation like if you give 5 dollars then we can achieve this and if you give 15 dollars we can achieve that.
Provide a time line or a target in your donation letter so your potential sponsors know by what date their donation is expected.
Finally, if there are some kind of compensation or tax deduction, include the details in your donation letter.

In 2009 Attitude Dance Studio went to 4 competitions; qualified and competed in Nationals held in Branson, MO. All of this was accomplished through hard work and dedication of our competition dancers. We are dedicated to ourselves and each other as a group and as a family. The Attitude Studio dancers, as a group, have given of their time and talents to the community through recitals and benefits for local charity. We held a benefit recital for Relay for Life and the Ozark Animal Rescue Center. As we enter 2010, we are looking for sponsors to help our competition dancers have another great year. Did you know that with a donation $25 we can provide an additional hour of dance class to all our competition dancers? We are also offering the following opportunities for interested persons and businesses: $25-$50 sponsors will receive your name or business on our warm-ups, $50 and up sponsors will receive a business card with your name or business on it. We would also like to mention this is tax deductible. Your donations are greatly appreciated.
